If you're prefer video tutorials, we got you covered: Church Websites: Blog Posts: How to Blog on Your Church Website

4 Steps to Master Blogging on your Sharefaith Website

There are essentially 4 concepts one would need to understand to be able to master the Sharefaith blogging feature:

  1. You can create/edit blog posts within the "Pages" tab of the Sidekick bar:

  2. Upon initially creating your Blog Post or editing it, you will be presented with the editing toolbar. The next step (outside the obvious one of adding content) would be to set your post's category. To do so, click the "More" button centered on the bottom of the toolbar, and, once the additional menu options appear, click the "Post Details" button (Gear/Sprocket symbol). Within this area, you can set/create categories your post belongs to, date or schedule an upcoming posting date for your post, set an author, and enable comments (not recommended):

  3. Once you have your posts created, you will then use the Blog Feature to set a section/page of your website to automatically display blog posts belonging to a specified category/set of categories (you can select your newly created one if you wish).

You can also customize the layout of how said feature (widget) arranges the blog posts it obtains from the categories you specify. To add this feature:

STEP 1: Begin by editing your desired page and click the Feature Button on the Editing Toolbar

STEP 2: Click the "Blog" feature option (1st column, 4th row at this time of writing)

STEP 3: Select the desired categories you wish for this feature to automatically display

STEP 4: Select your layout preferences and the maximum number of posts you wish for the widget to display at any given time

STEP 5: Click "Insert Blog" to embed your customized widget within your page, and click "Save" to save your changes

  4. Now that you have embedded your blog widget within your desired web page, you can then customize the layout of your blogs even further from within the "Settings" panel of the Sidekick bar to the left using its "Blog Layout" section:

CONGRATULATIONS!

You have successfully set up a page of your website to automatically update whenever new blog posts are created with the category you specified!
