Church Websites (Sidekick): Embedding: How to Add an Embed Code

This tutorial will walk you through the process of adding an embed code into your website. "This is very useful when you would like to add live streaming, maps, videos, calendars, daily verse widgets, social media apps, etc. onto your website.

The code widget reads the plain code that you are copying and pasting into it and translates it to work on the pages and/or posts on your site.

Please Note: We cannot guarantee that all codes will be embeddable on your site without conflicting with your website's existing code. If you notice that the widget is not displaying properly or if your page or post starts having formatting issues or slower loading speeds, you should remove the code widget and see if you can accomplish what you're looking to do with a different code or through a WordPress plugin, instead.

Let's add an embed code. Adding an embed code is the same for all template styles.

I just happen to be in a parallax style for this one. Let's begin. Click on the edit pencil, click the cell you would like your code to be in, click on the feature button, then click on the embed insert html button here.

The quick insert pop-up comes up. Paste your code in the content section. I'm using an embed code for google map this time.

Click save, then save again, and there you have it.
