Church Websites: cPanel: How to Change Your MX Records

There may be a time when you need to edit or change your MX records.

The main reason for this would be adding mx records for G-suites or Office 365 accounts.

Follow these steps:


  1. On the main control panel, click on DNS Zone Editor.

  2. Click manage on the domain name that you wish to make DNS edits to.

  3. Select MX to show only MX records.

  4. To DELETE a record click on delete.

  5. Select Continue to confirm your deletion.

  6. To ADD and MX record click on the Add record button.

  7. Now enter the correct information in each of the fields, {1-3} if the MX record has that field blank, leave it blank. We recommend that you enter 3600 in the TTL field. {2} When you have the correct information in each of the fields click the add record button.

  8. Repeat as many times as necessary.

That is all. While you may need to wait up to 24 hours for these changes to take effect, you are done!
