This tutorial will cover the basics of our file formats for our Sermon and Worship Media on Sharefaith.com which is essentially media that would be used on a digital projector or screen during your church service.

Here are a few of our most popular media categories and the file formats associated with them.
Video Formats Available:
WMV
Windows Media Video: WMV is a file format developed by Microsoft and will only work for Windows devices. All our WMV videos will be in a 4:3 aspect ratio or Standard Definition.
MP4
MPEG-4: MP4 is digital multimedia file format most commonly used to store video and audio. MP4 is the most universal file format for video and will work with many programs and platforms. MP4 is in a 4:3 aspect ratio or Standard Definition. This is the file format you will want to use if you have a Standard Definition projector system or TV in your sanctuary.
MP4 HD (1920 x 1080)
MPEG-4 HD: MP4 HD is the same as MP4, only in a higher resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. This is the file format you will want to use if you have a High Definition projector system or TV in your sanctuary.
MP4 HD - No Text (1920 x 1080)
MPEG-4 HD - No Text: MP4 HD - No Text is exactly the same as MP4 HD with the exception of no text on the video. This is great if you have found a video but want to customize it specifically for your church.
MP4 UHD 4k (3840 × 2160)
MPEG-4 UHD 4K: MP4 UHD is the same as MP4 UHD 4K, only 4 times the resoultion of standered High Definition. This is the file format you will want to use if you have a High Definition or UHD 4K projector system or TV in your sanctuary.
MP4 UHD 4k - No Text (3840 × 2160)
MPEG-4 UHD 4K: MP4 UHD - No Text is the same as MP4 UHD 4K with the exception of no text on the video. This is great if you have found a video but want to customize it specifically for your church.
Sermon PowerPoint Formats Available:
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint: .PPT is a file format developed by Microsoft and will only work for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 97 and newer. This file format has the aspect ratio of 4:3 and is great for using the Sermon PowerPoint as-is with a Standard Definition projector system or TV.
Zip Pack
Zip Pack: .Zip is a folder that has been Zipped or compressed. This allows for easier download or transfer. The Sermon PowerPoint Zip Pack includes both HD & SD JPEG images of the actual PowerPoint. These images can be used in many programs and platforms, not just Microsoft PowerPoint. You can also use the images located in the zip pack for more than presentations or sermons.
HD PowerPointHD PowerPoint: .PPT is a file format developed by Microsoft and will only work for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 97 and newer. The HD PowerPoint file format has the aspect ratio of 16:9 and is great for using the Sermon PowerPoint as is with a High Definition projector system or TV.
UHD 4K PowerPointUHD 4K PowerPoint: .PPT is a file format developed by Microsoft and will only work for Microsoft Office PowerPoint 97 and newer. The UHD 4K PowerPoint file format has the aspect ratio of 16:9 and is great for using the Sermon PowerPoint as is with a High Definition projector system or TV.
PhotoshopPhotoshop: PSD is a file format designed for Adobe Photoshop. This format provides a Photoshop file of the actual title slide from the Sermon PowerPoint. This format is great for someone who wants to alter or edit individual layers or text on the Sermon PowerPoint. Just like the zip pack, you can use the PSD file for more than presentations or sermons.
Worship Background Formats Available:
JPEG Format
Joint Photographic Experts Group: JPEG is a very common file format that is used for digital photography. JPEG files are very universal and may be used with many programs and platforms. The Worship Background JPEG formats are in 4:3 aspect ratio which is great to use for a Standard Definition projector system or TV.
PNG Format
Portable Network Graphics: PNG is a graphics file format that supports loss-less data compression so that there is little to no effect on the image color and quality when re-sizing. PNG images tend to be larger than JPEG images so they aren't the most ideal for website graphics unless there's noticeable quality loss when using a JPEG. The Worship Background PNG formats are in 4:3 aspect ratio which is great to use for a Standard Definition projector system or TV.
HD BackgroundHD Background: The HD backgrounds are in a JPEG file format as well. The Worship HD Backgrounds are in 16:9 aspect ratio which is great to use for a High Definition projector system or TV, or for website backgrounds.
